Package: compiz Version: 0.5.0.dfsg-1 Severity: normal I have 8 workspaces configured in GNOME. With Metacity running, both the workspace switcher and the window selector work properly. The workspace switcher shows the contents of all workspaces in the form of miniature windows, and the window selector (the single menu that shows all the session's windows) will show windows from other workspaces. When I start compiz, the desktops themselves retain the windows they originally had and it's possible to switch to those desktops using the workspace switcher, but the workspace switcher does not show the windows in any workspace other than the current one, and the same is true of the window selector. The end result is that I have to Just Know which workspace any given window I'm interested in is located, and I have no way of enumerating all the windows in my session. Even the window list applet, which is the equivalent of the taskbar in Microsoft Windows, will fail to show all the windows in the session even when it's configured to do so. This is annoying, to say the least, but it doesn't render compiz unusable, else I would have filed this with a higher priority. -- System Information: Debian Release: lenny/sid APT prefers testing APT policy: (990, 'testing'), (500, 'unstable'), (500, 'stable'), (1, 'experimental') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 2.6.20-1-amd64 (SMP w/1 CPU core) Locale: LANG=C, LC_CTYPE=C (charmap=UTF-8) (ignored: LC_ALL set to en_US.UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Versions of packages compiz depends on: ii compiz-core 0.5.0.dfsg-1 OpenGL window and compositing mana ii compiz-gnome 0.5.0.dfsg-1 OpenGL window and compositing mana ii compiz-gtk 0.5.0.dfsg-1 OpenGL window and compositing mana ii compiz-plugins 0.5.0.dfsg-1 OpenGL window and compositing mana compiz recommends no packages. -- no debconf information
