Bug#640464: xterm: rendering problems (pixels not erased?)

A more automatic way to run this test: just run the attached
fdbug49786.sh script (this is a standalone testcase) and wait
for 4 seconds. It just needs xterm and base64 (to output some
content with special chracters).

I've attached screenshots:
  * snapshot1.png: what is obtained after running the script. Incorrect.
  * snapshot2.png: what is obtained after a redraw. Correct.
