Because libwayland0 is a dependency of libcairo2, this bug makes multiarch pretty much unusable on a GUI system. Multiarch is necessary for things like Skype and web browsers with a reasonable memory footprint (unless you want to go back to 2008 and run a 32 bit system on an AMD64 CPU). $ apt-rdepends -r libwayland0 | grep -v '^ .*$' | sort -u | grep '^lib' | wc -l Reading package lists... Done Building dependency tree Reading state information... Done 1415 This bug makes around 1400 packages uninstallable, as a conservative bound. Definitely not 'wishlist'.
