Bug#696554: System freezes and lockups

Okay, unfortunately it hasn't taken long to see a problem from nouveaux. While tailing syslog, I just noticed these messages cropping up from a few moments ago:

Dec 25 21:14:22 humonculux kernel: [ 3718.821137] [drm] nouveau 0000:01:00.0: PGRAPH - TRAP_TPDMA - TP1: Unhandled ustatus 0x00000008

System still hasn't hung or crashed...yet.

Any idea what these messages could indicate?

Hello,

Just an idea of mine, but if this issue only happens after logging in
(to gnome-shell?), perhaps you could try installing+logging into the
xfce4-desktop?  Just to see if that still triggers the nouveau bug.

And then if xfce4 is stable, you could perhaps try `mplayer -vo xv
somefile.avi` to see if that will trigger the problem instead.

Thanks!
Regards,
