Hi,

earth3d crashes during startup with a segfault.

This is the output of a normal startup:
  lars@erker:~/bug-reports/earth3d$ earth3d
  registered plane
  size: 1
  registered sphere
  size: 2
  PATH: /usr/bin
  PATH: /home/lars/.earth3d/
  registered sphere
  size: 3
  registered sphere
  size: 4
  INIT
  CONNECTTOSERVER
  Speicherzugriffsfehler

The strace and ltrace outputs are attached.

The stdout output during the strace run is the same as above.

The stdout output during the ltrace run is the following:
  lars@erker:~/bug-reports/earth3d$ ltrace earth3d 2>/dev/null
  registered plane
  size: 1
  registered sphere
  size: 2
  PATH: /usr/bin
  PATH: /home/lars/.earth3d/

(no segfault message here!)

I use the following graphic card:
  S3 Inc. SuperSavage IX/C SDR (rev 05)
on a Thinkpad T23.

My X server (xorg-server v7.3+18) is configured with 16 bit color depth.

I hope, this helps you, to track down the segfault.

thanks for your time,
Lars

The savage 3D driver has been removed in Mesa 8.0, so I'm closing this
bug. Sorry for not bringing better news.

Cheers,
       Sven
