Hello, i discoverd the same problem with an RV350 chip. Interesting in this may be the fact, that the xserver is not going to crash, if the firmware for radeon gpu is not installed (after a fresh debian testing install for example). After adding the firmware, the gpu acceleration is enabled, corrsponding to the logfiles... Regards
