As Xressources are only used for program started *after* they are loaded, the fact that restarting xfwm4 fixes the issue means they are loaded too late. Can you check in gdm3 that the session you are using is “Xfce Session” and not default X session or something like that (no idea how it's called in gdm3). Regards, -- Yves-Alexis
