Watch closely the boot process. I have no idea how to find that out, especially since I cannot find any error message related to udev except: Waiting for /dev to be fully populated...[ 3.519432] r600_cp: Failed to laod firmware "radeon/CEDAR_pfp.bin (and then something about disabling GPU acceleration). Otherwise I cannot find anything suggesting a problem with udev, no failed, error, problem etc. during system boot, nor anything related in the system logs, a restart of udev completes without any visible (on the console / in the logs) error.... > Also, read README.Debian. I did. I could not find anything specific. I tried booting into single user mode as described but given that I use lvm, this is non trivial (I ended up in a kernel panic because no further partition could be found). I'll see if I try later when I have a kernel without initrd, but if you now further venues for research please tell me.
