You may want to try to upgrade libgl1-mesa-dri to the version available in sid as well (7.10.2-1). (As a side note: glxgears is not a benchmark; and a limited number of frames can also be due to sync on vblank; although that's unlikely to be the case at 300 fps.) KiBi.
