Did you see anything interesting in /var/log/kern.log or > /var/log/Xorg.0.log.old? This package (1:0.0.16+git20101210+8bb8231-2) has reached testing with linux-image-2.6.38-2-amd64 (2.6.38-3). Xorg is not usable anymore with 2 monitors. As soon as I open a window on the secondary monitor, I have the same freeze as described previously. I do not have any xorg.conf file.
