..setting MatchIsTouchpad "off" here, works ok for me.

..setting MatchIsTouchpad "off" here, kills the keyboard for me,
the touchpad still works with a dead keyboard, so recovery to
the console for edits and resets, remains possible even without 
ssh sessions.

..and I can confirm leaving both "on" can kill both the keyboard and
the touchpad and to the point X doesn't respond to external rodents,
requiring power kill and cold reboot, I don't have ssh boxes handy.
