Hi,
after updating libxt6 from 1.0.9 to 1.1.0, xdm refuses to start if
called through system startup or when entering runlevel by hand.

On the other hand it behaves - as far as I can tell - fine if called
with /etc/init.d/xdm start from console afterwards.
