It might be nice to attach an (old) Xorg log, from a crash. vesa isn't happy when I have my second monitor plugged in. Neither vesa nor nouveau crash when I don't have my second monitor plugged in though. Interestingly, nouveau also doesn't crash if I hotplug the second monitor, it only crashes when the second monitor was already plugged in at the start of the X server... Not that I can explain it, but it's what happens. I've attached a log, but there's no information about the crash there.
