well, EURO symbol is out since a while, hence this pkg should really come
with ISO 10646-1 and ISO 8859-15.
Unless there are compelling reasons - which I'm obviously missing - for 
allowing ISO 8859-1 only, that is.

as far as I understand it, this package contains only minimal sets of
fonts to have a very basic system working, you probably should install
other fonts packages to work in a proper environment. (Which
Gnome/KDE/whatever will pull for you.)
