Because this was annoying, I ended up switching to using a different
keymap. But, I've put things back, and I was able to test this again
using 1.9 from sid. I pulled my USB and then plugged it back in and
found that I wasn't stuck in uppercase as I reported in the bug report,
so that has improved. However, my keybindings were reset and I had to
xmodmap ~/.Xmodmap to get it to work again.

I just upgraed to experimental's 1.10 and I get the same behavior as
above.

I'm not sure if that is a bug, or how its supposed to work? If that is
expected, please feel free to close the bug.
