Bug#614812: xserver-xorg-input-synaptics: tapping cannot be disabled after upgrade to 1.3.99.901-1

fun, users usually complain the other way round. :)

You may want to check this doc:
  http://pkg-xorg.alioth.debian.org/howtos/configure-input.html

That should help you get started. I suspect the device matching in
your xorg.conf might be incorrect and getting you into troubles.

If moving your configuration file aside doesn't help, feel free to
report that upstream, product:xorg, component:Input/synaptics
