At a first glance it seems that it now works, in the sense that it no
longer freezes or pauses the entire system. 2D and 3D seem to be
"acceptable" enough, though the same programs on windows perform *much*
faster (in a blender scene I'm playing now: 60fps on windows
[frame-capped], ~25-30 fps on linux). glxgears works smoothly.

I'm rarely using this system anymore (due to bugs and bad performance,
I'm not using any other intel card at the moment), so I'm not really
willing to debug this specific issue any further. You can close the
report as far I'm concerned.

Thanks.
