TapButton1 and HorizEdgeScroll are disabled in X, but enabled in xorg.conf
and logged in Xorg.log.

Both options can be enabled using synclient.

Does this also happen in a bare X session (no gnome, no kde, ...)?

How to start X without kde?

startx /usr/bin/xterm -- :1

And run synclient -l from that xterm.

You were right; the KDE-Options changed that behavior. But I don't know how the systemsettings were changed.
How to close a bug?

Reinhard
