Unfortunately I'm using libegl1-mesa-drivers-x11, which has a dependency
'libdrm-nouveau1 (>= 2.4.20-3~)' that screws things up.  Which is a
rather stupid dependency IMNSHO as (it has libdrm-intel1 as well, so
that should be an alternate dependency IMO).

Either way, it's too late now to try circumventing the package manager.
I'll try to circumvent the dependency on libdrm-nouveau1 tomorrow...

Aye, looking at it I'd say it's exactly the same, merging this bug with
that one...
