xkbcomp fails because I have misc/ directory in the current directory. xkbcomp
should print absolute path of the file it failed to include (and mentioned it
found directory instead of file), it would help to resolve such problems
faster (and you can see some people suffering from this problem on Google).

Solution for `syntax error' (for people googling for the problem):
xkbcomp -R/usr/share/X11/xkb ~/.Xkeymap "$DISPLAY"
