Package: xserver-xorg-video-radeonhd Version: DRI on Mobility Radeon X1800 (M58) broken Severity: normal --- Please enter the report below this line. --- With the kernel 2.6.30 and actual radeonhd driver system freeze shortly after start. After there is added in xorg.conf Option "DRI" "off" xserver starts, it does not freeze, but moving a window does not correctly redraw borders of window. Nearly unusable. With the kernel 2.6.31 and radeonhd driver built from GIT and Option "DRI" "off" systems work as follow. After Start there appears somehow distorted desktop. For example text is completely unreadable. If there is switched with ctrl-altF1 to the first console a back again desktop work at once clear an everything seem be O.K. But it is very, very slow. Even moving of one window takes much CPU power and is not fluent. I am attaching xserver logs of both cases. (There is no problem with Hardware because on the same notebook are running Windows XP without problems) --- System information. --- Architecture: amd64 Kernel: Linux 2.6.31-5.dmz.4-liquorix-amd64 Debian Release: squeeze/sid 500 unstable liquorix.net 500 testing www.debian-multimedia.org 500 testing gd.tuwien.ac.at --- Package information. --- Depends (Version) | Installed ============================================-+-======================= libc6 (>= 2.3) | 2.9-25 libdrm2 (>= 2.3.1) | 2.4.14-1 libpci3 (>= 1:3.1.0) | 1:3.1.4-2 libpciaccess0 (>= 0.8.0+git20071002) | 0.10.9-1 xserver-xorg-core (>= 2:1.5.99.901) | 2:1.6.5-1 Package's Recommends field is empty.
