The problem seems to be related to painting an image with cairo and maybe
scaling.

For example, trying to see a youtube video fails, also some swf files on
which there is a bitmap mixed with some vector graphics, are seen ok on
standard size, but when they are scaled up the bitmap dissapears, then if
size is restored the bitmap is shown again. A silly url for you to test

I have tested the same program with Xephyr instead of the xserver-xorg
server and it works ok, it also works ok if I downgrade to xserver-xorg on
testing. Even though the machine has an Ati card I have xchanged it with a
Nvidia and it also behaved exactly the same way.

Exporting the window through ssh from the failing machine to a machine
running stable or testing let's swfdec work.

Playing the files with swfplay (a program made for debugging swfdec) using
the -i option which is descrived as:
-i, --image	use an intermediate image surface for drawing
makes it work, but doing it without the -i option fails.

I don't know anything about cairo, which is how swfdec communicates with X,
talking with upstream on the bug he tried to explain to me the differences
between the treatment of vectors and bitmaps, he stated this which didn't
tell me anything but may point you on the right direction:

I don't know what else to say, except that I'm open to test whatever you
