Package: libx11-6 Version: 2:1.2.1-1 Severity: normal I am using fglrx 9.4 driver from AMD/ATI which has atieventsd deamon monitoring ACPI events and notifying X via extentions interface. The problem is that dmesg shows one segfault inside libX11.so each time atieventsd is restarted while X is already running: atieventsd[4086]: segfault at 540 ip b7e4f2ff sp bfb5eb20 error 4 in libX11.so.6.2.0[b7e0b000+11a000] atieventsd[6366]: segfault at 540 ip b7f932ff sp bfca1760 error 4 in libX11.so.6.2.0[b7f4f000+11a000] atieventsd[11738]: segfault at 540 ip b7fba2ff sp bfeca9a0 error 4 in libX11.so.6.2.0[b7f76000+11a000] Segfault is not produced if machine is started normally (atieventsd first and then Xorg). Interestingly atieventsd process is still running after this, so I am not sure about the impact, but it worries me because the 2D video acceleration is lost after some time (a lot of framedrops in totem, and iceweasel page scrolling is slow). -- System Information: Debian Release: squeeze/sid APT prefers testing APT policy: (500, 'testing'), (500, 'stable'), (50, 'unstable'), (1, 'experimental') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.6.28.10-xps420 (SMP w/4 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Versions of packages libx11-6 depends on: ii libc6 2.9-6 GNU C Library: Shared libraries ii libx11-data 2:1.2.1-1 X11 client-side library ii libxcb1 1.2-1 X C Binding libx11-6 recommends no packages. libx11-6 suggests no packages. -- no debconf information
