No, it behaves the same. The only difference is that LVDS1 is printed as first in logs and xrandr output, and VGA1 is printed as second. Attached dmesg and X log (with monitor attached to DVI output). Kernel version 2.6.36~rc6-1~experimental.1, intel driver version 2:2.13.0-1.
