when xclock is invoked with -rv option, the foreground colors aren't set by
default to something viewable for a black background. Older xfree behavior is
to set them to white, which works fine. Attempting to set them to white via
the -hd, -hl options has no effect.

Today's version looks readable to me (note that it uses xrender
extension by default, so the hands are actually colored now).
Also with xrender then -hd, -hl options are ignored (according to the
manpage)
So I'm closing this bug, feel free to reopen it with more detailed
information in case you still experience the problem.
