Bug#595767: xserver-xorg-video-radeon: Won't load hardware acceleration after system start



Hi,

I'm attaching my newest X and dmesg log. Don't know why Linux is confusing the date, but a

~$ ls -l /var/log/Xorg.0.log
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 42544  6. Sep 19:32 /var/log/Xorg.0.log

tells me that now it definitely is the latest version.

I think the important part in the X log is

(EE) RADEON(0): [dri] RADEONDRIGetVersion failed because of a version mismatch.
[dri] This chipset requires a kernel module version of 1.8.0,
[dri] but the kernel reports a version of 2.0.0.[dri] If using legacy modesetting, upgrade your kernel.
[dri] If using kernel modesetting, make sure your module is
[dri] loaded prior to starting X, and that this driver was built
[dri] with support for KMS.
[dri] Disabling DRI.

but to me, this message is more confusing than illustrative, so I'd be happy if you could help me.
