Bug#587722: System freeze on resume - possible solution

here's my current setup:

$ apt-cache policy linux-image-2.6.32-5-amd64 | grep "\*\*\*"

So if I understand correctly I'm in the situation that makes your system
correctly suspend & resume.
However, I still have the same problem I had with 2.6.32-18: namely,
when I ask for a suspend, the screen goes dark (I don't mean it fades to
black, it really turns off) but system doesn't suspend: it is however
neither frozen, it is just unresponsive.

I'm attaching the logs /var/log/syslog and /var/log/Xorg.0.log as taken
_after_ the system becomes unresponsive (at least I guess: I started for
both "tail -f" and after the failed suspend I rebooted the system with
"Alt + Prtscr + REISUB").

As always, I'm totally available for additional investigation and
testing. I simply have absolutely no idea of what to do.
