Bug#588927: xserver-xorg-video-nouveau: cannot use a decent resolution

* Sven Joachim <svenjoac@gmx.de>, 2010-07-18, 20:31:
Appending "video=1280x1024" is necessary to get that mode on the
console; 1024x768 is used by default.

If remove /etc/X11/xorg.conf, the problem remains, though the log
(attached) is a bit different.

$ cat /sys/class/drm/card0-VGA-1/edid | wc -c
0

Hrmpf. What's that for a broken monitor that does not supply EDID
information? Can you obtain it with get-edid (in the read-edid package)
instead?

$ get-edid
get-edid: get-edid version 2.0.0

Your previous mail suggests that your monitor is an LG L1715S

That's right, I use this model.
