Bug#551803: [855GM] frequent X server crash; [drm:i915_hangcheck_elapsed]; hardware wedged; have to reboot

Hello,

after upgrading to

   xserver-xorg-video-intel 2:2.12.0-1 (currently in experimental)

on the affected system, I can run X11 for several hours without a crash. :-)

There are some minor redrawing problems, e.g. in a (fullscreen) xterm
the last line of pixels does not scroll (visible with chars like 'g', 'p', 'q').
This might be related to using xterm under xmonad.

Another example: running fvwm, starting xeyes or xlogo, and xterm. Now moving the
xterm around on the screen will have black areas, where it crosses over xeyes.
The black areas vanish when switching the workspace to another one and back.

So, for my original problem, it is solved with some remaining visible
artefacts. But I can work. Thanks very much for everyone involved.

Erich
