Sorry, the problem is still here. It seems they just added a workaround
to detect this problem and disable acceleration :

(EE) intel(0): Detected a hung GPU, disabling acceleration.
(WW) intel(0): i830_uxa_prepare_access: gtt bo map failed: Input/output error

[ 1577.544230] [drm:i915_hangcheck_elapsed] *ERROR* Hangcheck timer elapsed... GPU hung
[ 1577.544247] render error detected, EIR: 0x00000000
[ 1577.544272] [drm:i915_do_wait_request] *ERROR* i915_do_wait_request returns -5 (awaiting 61238 at 61237)

When acceleration is disabled, the thing becomes slower and there are
some display problems: horizontal black lines may appear, aptitude
ncurses interface is completely scrambled in urxvt with transparent
background, ...

I have also tried 2.6.34-1~experimental.2 with no change. I have tried
to disable KMS but X refuses to start. I will try to rebuild 2.6.34
kernel with patches from here and let you know if this improves things.
