Bug#564211: xserver-xorg-input-synaptics: Lost scrolling with synaptics touchpad after upgrade

OK, I didn't notice that I reported the bug while still having this
snippet in /etc/X11/xorg.conf. I have removed it and the situation is
still the same:
 - X recognizes the touchpad (and still tries to load twice)
 - tapping and scrolling does not work

I have looked at the output of synclient -l and I noticed that
VertEdgeScroll was set to 0. I set it to 1 and scrolling is now
working. I have a HAL policy for this but I suppose that the driver does
not query HAL anymore :

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="ISO-8859-1"?>
<deviceinfo version="0.2">
  <device>
    <match key="info.capabilities" contains="input.touchpad">
        <merge key="input.x11_options.LeftEdge" type="string">1700</merge>
        <merge key="input.x11_options.RightEdge" type="string">5300</merge>
        <merge key="input.x11_options.TopEdge" type="string">1700</merge>
        <merge key="input.x11_options.BottomEdge" type="string">4200</merge>
        <merge key="input.x11_options.FingerLow" type="string">25</merge>
        <merge key="input.x11_options.FingerHigh" type="string">30</merge>
        <merge key="input.x11_options.MaxTapTime" type="string">180</merge>
        <merge key="input.x11_options.MaxTapMove" type="string">220</merge>
        <merge key="input.x11_options.VertScrollDelta" type="string">100</merge>
        <merge key="input.x11_options.VertEdgeScroll" type="string">1</merge>
        <merge key="input.x11_options.MinSpeed" type="string">0.111</merge>
        <merge key="input.x11_options.MaxSpeed" type="string">0.92</merge>
        <merge key="input.x11_options.AccelFactor" type="string">0.050</merge>
        <merge key="input.x11_options.ZAxisMapping" type="string">4 5</merge>
    </match>
  </device>
</deviceinfo>

I can enable tapping by setting TapButton1=1.

Therefore, I think this whole bug could be resolved by updating
README.Debian to emphasize the fact that the touchpad should be
configured with synclient and that other methods (xorg.conf or HAL) does
not work anymore.

Thanks for your help!

Here is the output of synclient -l before any manipulation from me:
