Do you mean 3D or also 2D?

I already had 2D (at least, what I mean is that "mplayer -zoom" worked
smoothly - notice I probably already had firmware-linux-free installed),
I tried installing firmware-linux, and while 3D acceleration still was
absent, the suspend situation got worse: it now didn't even complete the
suspend procedure corectly, instead blanking the screen and then
becoming unresponsive.

At the moment, I'm running 2.6.32-3-amd64 and noticed that 2D
acceleration _was_ working, but stopped after the first standby/wakeup.
