Some of those lockups can be worked around with the EXANoComposite option in xorg.conf (see exa(4)), or by switching the AccelMethod option to "XAA". Thankfully most of these hangs are gone with later versions of the driver, so I'm marking this bug as fixed in squeeze (upcoming Debian 6.0). Cheers, Julien
