Package: xserver-xorg-video-intel
Version: 2:2.9.1-2
Severity: normal

--- Please enter the report below this line. ---

The xserver crashes with a segmentation fault when trying to use the lock screen functionality of gnome. This only occurs when using an external monitor and the internal notebook display is turned off. It doesn't happen when using the internal notebook display or both displays simultaneously. I've attached an Xorg.log which contains a stack trace of the crash.

I have turned off KMS (by adding "i915 modeset=0" to my /etc/modules) because the internal display of my Samsung X20 XVM 1730 IV notebook otherwise stops working when loading the i915 module manually or during xserver startup (and I didn't have the time to figure out whether this can be fixed using some kernel parameters).
