Hi I have the same problem. Using the trackpoint the mouse pointer jumps randomly on mouse clicks. I've got the problem under control by putting options psmouse proto=imps into /etc/modprobde.d (saw this fix on an Ubuntu forum), but this has stopped the middle mouse button working.
