I expected so much, but didn't have time to investigate. Anyway, here it is: xserver-xorg-video-intel debian linux 2:2.9.1-2 2:2.10.902-1 2.6.32-3-686 2.6.32-9 FAILS 1* WORKS FINE 2.6.32-4-686 2.6.32-10 FAILS 2* WORKS FINE 2.6.33-2-686 2.6.33-1~exp.3 FAILS 3* WORKS FINE 1* First time works fine, second suspend doesn't even suspend (system crashes or so). See attached file gdm_:0.log-2.6.32-3 2* First time works fine, second suspend doesn't even suspend (I get a gdm error). See attached file gdm_:0.log-2.6.32-4 3* First time works fine, second time doesn't. See attached files gdm_:0.log-2.6.33-2 and Xorg.0.log-2.6.33-2 The error message is not in the Xorg log, but in the gdm log (which looks like it's an Xorg log anyway). The common pattern here (with 2.9.1) is: X: ../../src/i830_batchbuffer.h:79: intel_batch_emit_dword: Assertion `pI830->batch_ptr != ((void *)0)' failed. Conclusion: the fix is in xserver-xorg-video-intel 2:2.10.902-1. BTW, running 2.6.32-4-686 with 2:2.9.1-2 and then upgrading to 2:2.10.902-1 doesn't give a properly working system that time around. When I suspend, I do get some kind of working X (so not a crash) with black background and moving mouse, but nothing working otherwise. See gdm_:0.log-upgrading and Xorg.0.log-upgrading. After a reboot, everything is fine.
