Hi Brice,
I still have the same problems as in my original bug report has already
documented. I have now done some tests with 2.6.33 kernel with different boot
parameters (always in comparison with kernel 2.6.32). I have always used the
official kernel of the sidux project, no self compiled kernel. The latest BIOS
is installed on my PC.

Here's an overview:

Kernel version: 2.6.33-0.slh.5-sidux-amd64
Kernel command line: root=/dev/mapper/sysvg-LVroot ro quiet
Xorg: In Xorg.0.log no errors starting with "(EE) intel"
Effects when launched X: short-term dropouts (black screen) and visual
disturbances

Kernel version: 2.6.33-0.slh.5-sidux-amd64
Kernel command line: root=/dev/mapper/sysvg-LVroot ro quiet video=1280x1024
i915.modeset=0
Xorg: no short-term dropouts (black screen) and no visual disturbances, but
errors in the Xorg.0.log
(EE) open /dev/fb0: No such file or directory
(EE) intel(0): [drm] Failed to open DRM device for : No such file or directory
(EE) intel(0): Failed to become DRM master.
(EE) intel(0): Failed to initialize kernel memory manager
Effects when launched X: Very sluggish and slow KDE

Kernel version: 2.6.33-0.slh.10-sidux-amd64
Kernel command line: root=/dev/mapper/sysvg-LVroot ro quiet video=1280x1024
Xorg: In Xorg.0.log no errors starting with "(EE) intel"
Effects when launched X: short-term dropouts (black screen) and visual
disturbances

Kernel version: 2.6.33-0.slh.10-sidux-amd64
Kernel command line: root=/dev/mapper/sysvg-LVroot ro quiet video=1280x1024
i915.modeset=0

So whenever I fall on the boot parameter "i915.modeset = 0" set the short
glitches and visual disturbances are gone, but the performance in X is then
very bad. However, I Put the boot parameter "i915.modeset = 0" are not, the
performance in the X good. But short glitches and visual disturbances are
present.

I've attached the logs of X (Xorg.0.log), the output of dmesg (dmesg.txt) and
lsmod (lsmod.txt) for both variants in the mail. Perhaps they see a possible
solution to my problems.

Regards
Michael Singer
