Package: xserver-xorg-video-ati
Version: 1:6.8.0-1
Severity: important

xserver-xorg-video-ati_1:6.8.0-1 and higher the xserver starts up fine
new windows are quick to appear but moving or resizing exixting windows
takes an inordinately long period of time and CPU resources rendering
the computer all but useless.

X logs report no errors or strangeness.

Down grade to 1:6.6.3-2 and all is fine.

lspci reports as
06:05.0 VGA compatible controller: ATI Technologies Inc Radeon RV100 QY [Radeon 7000/VE]
In a Dell Powerdege 1800 (Special set up for cheap cheery card?).

N.B. System deps below are wrong due to bugthing getting deps from
installed packages. As it didn't work everything was downgraded.

any other information I can provide to help send me mail.
