OK, this should be fixed upstream in 1.4.1, which will trickle down to
the distro soonish.

However, the penmount X driver lacks a maintainer, whose task would be
to make sure the driver keeps working with new X versions (which
essentially means testing it from time to time).  Other X developers can
most likely fix it if breakage is reported, but since none of them can
test the driver they can't notice when changes in other components would
break it.  Would you consider taking this on?
