Bug#571178: xserver-xorg-video-intel: Intel 855GM GPU hangs after 3+ hours only when second monitor connected
Package: xserver-xorg-video-intel
Version: 2:2.9.1-2
Severity: normal
HP Pavilion ze4900 laptop. When CRT attached to VGA output the GPU hangs after 3+
random hours. Sometimes shuts down normally when power button pressed. Otherwise
have to hold the power button for 4 seconds to kill the power. The X server log
from the last crash is attached as Xorg.0.log.old.
When the CRT is attached the following xrandr commands are run:
xrandr --newmode 1024x768X100Hz 126.64 1024 1056 1536 1568 768 781 794 807
xrandr --addmode VGA1 1024x768X100Hz
xrandr --output VGA1 --mode 1024x768X100Hz --above LVDS1
xrandr --output VGA1 --gamma 1.5:1.5:0.8
