Package: xserver-xorg-dev
Version: 2:1.6.5-1
Severity: normal

Hi,

there is no dependencies between xserver-xorg-core and xserver-xorg-dev.
This means it is possible to have xserver-xorg-core and
xserver-xorg-dev with different version.

This make imposible to use xserver-xorg-dev in the current machine,
because Xorg binary (from xserver-xorg-core), will try to check the
version of headers (from xserver-xorg-dev) and fails.

I got :
hi xserver-xorg-core 2:1.4.2-11
Xorg X server - core server
ii xserver-xorg-dev 2:1.6.5-1

When trying to load a module that I built, I got :
(II) Module xxxx: vendor="X.Org Foundation"
        compiled for 1.6.5, module version = 0.0.10
        Module class: X.Org Video Driver
ABI class: X.Org Video Driver, version 5.0
(EE) module ABI major version (5) doesn't match the server's version (2)

This is not a bug.

It doesn't make anything "impossible". It just means you have to build
your module against the correct version of xserver-xorg-dev.
