Bug#524280: Same problem on Radeon HD 3200

I am in a position to reboot now.  Since I couldn't find anything in the bios,
I've reduced the ram to 2 GB and tested version 6.12.2-1.  The problem remains,
so I doubt it has anything to do with the amount of memory.  I've attached my
Xorg log file and dmesg output.

So far I've only tried 6.9.0 (which works) and 6.12.2 (which doesn't work)
but I'd like to help out by testing intermediate versions an doing a git
bisect.  I couldn't find any amd64 binary packages for the intermediate
versions, and I also don't have much experience with building my own packages.
So I'm afraid you'll either have to talk me through this in every detail,
or send me (links to) packages to test.
