Bug#562687: xkb-data configure postinst fails because /etc/X11/xkb is a symlink

Package: xkb-data
Version: 1.7-1
Severity: important

I am unable to complete the upgrade of xkb-data from 1.6-1 to 1.7-1.
I was able to boil down the problem to the following:

$ sudo dpkg -D2 --configure xkb-data
Setting up xkb-data (1.7-1) ...
D000002: fork/exec /var/lib/dpkg/info/xkb-data.postinst ( configure 1.6-1 )
dpkg: error processing xkb-data (--configure):
subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 1
Errors were encountered while processing:
 xkb-data

The last action in xkb-data.postinst is:

rmdir --ignore-fail-on-non-empty /etc/X11/xkb 2>/dev/null

And in fact, that fails with exit status 1, because /etc/X11/xkb
is a symlink to /usr/share/X11/xkb.

It looks like that line needs to be replaced with:

if [ ! -h /etc/X11/xkb ]; then
  rmdir --ignore-fail-on-non-empty /etc/X11/xkb 2>/dev/null
fi

Thanks,
Yitz
