We have had xserver-xorg-video-ati 6.12.3 in Debian for a while. Just
don't use the oldest Debian release if you want the latest driver...

The ubuntu bug talks about 6.12.2, it might be good to know if 6.12.3
really doesn't work, and then check xserver-xorg-video-ati git master.
