xserver-xephyr keyboard trouble

Hi--

I'm reluctant now to report this as a bug (mainly since I am not entirely sure whose
fault it is), but I can not seem to find a resolution.

I am running:

   ii xserver-xephyr 2:1.6.4-2 nested X server

ii gdm 2.20.9-1.1 GNOME Display Manager

on a "debian-testing" machine.

When I "login in a window" via the gnome menu
(AKA, when I run "gdmflexiserver --xnest")
I get a window and am able to login. All is fine *except* that the keymap seems to be
slightly broken inside the Xephyr window -- while typing inside this window,
my cursor arrow keys don't work (and "up arrow" seems to be
mapped to "print screen"). Most other keys seem to work fine. (And they work fine when
while typing "outside the window").

The lines

   [daemon]
   Xnest=/usr/bin/Xephyr -screen 1150x860

are in my /etc/gdm/gdm.conf configuration.

For what it is worth, my present configuration *used to work*. The keys quit working a few months back. But I'm not sure if it was an update of gdm that broke things,
or an update of xserver-xephyr.

Also, I have exactly the same problem on 2 different debian-testing
machines (and on 1 ubuntu machine).

Let me know if you would like other info!

All the best,
gm
