Bug#546836: any information yet?

I pointed my deb-src to lenny to get the old xserver-xorg-video-mga.  Then I did:
apt-get -b source xserver-xorg-video-mga
and
dpkg -i xserver-xorg-video-mga_1.4.9.dfsg-1_i386.deb
to install what was built.  If that is what you mean by build against the 1.6 server, then it
didn't change anything.  It still didn't work.
If I have to do something different, let me know.

mga is not really maintained upstream anymore so unless your problem is
obvious, you will have to wait before getting a fix.
You could try to rebuild the old mga driver against the new 1.6 server
to see if the bug comes from the updated driver or from the updated server.
