(I'm a bit confused - the problem in the bug as I reported it was with
_pasting_ of characters _into_ xterm, but above you have referred to
xterm copying _to_ the clipboard?)

The problem still exists in Xemacs 21, which is what I use, but not in
Emacs 22 (as pointed out by Vincent Lefevre's comment of 23 Jan 2006).

So maybe it is just now an xemacs problem, which will be fixed within
the next decade or two.
