Can you try without any xorg.conf config file in case your
horiz/vertrefresh ranges are involved in the problem?
Can you try some other intel driver versions that are available at
http://people.debian.org/~bgoglin/rebuilds/Xserver1.6/ ?
We should report your problem upstream, but it would be good to know
when the problem appeared.
In the meantime, you could use the vesa driver, or try to force a mode
using:
