With KDE effects (compositing in general) this is expected until the
drivers support DRI2.

If it also happens without, the Mesa patch from
http://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=21653 may help (testing
instructions at http://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=21653#c7).
