Bug#469706: video-intel: New intel driver no longer usable

Hello,

After upgrading the X server I did a reconfigure to get rid of any
possible cruft in xorg.conf

After a few days the X server locked up. Symptoms:

 - no keyboard input
 - movable mouse cursor
 - no screen updates
 - X server can be killed only by signal 9
 - when X server exits the screen goes to sleep mode (may be caused by
   gdm starting another X server)
 - the system would not suspend or power off, hard reset required

Switching accel to XAA completely locks up the box on X start, no remote
access.
